What happened in 2011 ?
There are now more than 555 million web sites. 300 Million websites were added in 2011 alone. Competition on the internet is getting stronger every minute of the day. There are 3.1 billion email users worldwide. There are 2.1 billion people on the Internet (December 2011).
In Africa there are over 140 million and in South Africa over 6.8 million Internet users (this excludes people having internet access via their workplace and mobiles, so you can easily triple that figure). The 6.8 million users is set to double in the next 4 to 5 years. More and more people are using the internet looking for services and products. A recent study showed that more consumers in South Africa use the internet than what suppliers do. If you want your business to be seen, you have to get out there. Social Media plays a major role with 4.9 million users on Facebook in South Africa.
